The vision of a multifunctional office box was developed by consultants when implementing hybrid working environments
From this vision, the Multi Box was designed as a multifunctional space within the workplace and as a system component for hybrid working, user-centrically constructed and further developed to series production readiness.
Multifunctionality includes a wide range of uses such as use as a single office, for confidential conversations, two meetings, retreat & concentration, as well as the function as a sound-absorbing partition element in open spaces
The Multi Box is made exclusively from sustainable materials under “Cradle to Cradle” aspects
The box can be installed without technical preparation in all standard office spaces, both individually and in groups as a system
The external dimensions are not too large to allow the box to be integrated into all common office layouts without loss of efficiency, and not too small to ensure a high quality of stay inside as well.
A separate floor slab was omitted in order to give users a greater sense of space and better spatial integration
The Multi Box also allows access for people with limited mobility, such as wheelchair users, who can easily get into the box when the table is placed off-center.
Through an extensive “Test & Learn” program, minor errors and potential for improvement were identified, corrected and implemented
The Multi Box was designed for integration into open office concepts and offers a retreat space close to the workplace
The double door and sliding table allow use by two people with only minimal installation space
The highly sound-absorbing outer surface of the Multi Box reduces the reverberation time and thus improves the room acoustics
The Multi Box is the result of an iterative development process, the vision became reality step by step

With two seats and the table placed in the middle, the box can be used by two people for confidential conversations or participation in hybrid meetings, etc.

The table is attached to the back wall with a rail and can be moved with just one hand
With the table placed off-center, the box offers the user more space to move around and more comfort as a single office

Application example
The external dimensions of 2.25 x 1.21 meters are designed to allow the box to be integrated into all common office layouts
With these dimensions, the Multi Box is large enough to ensure a very high quality of stay even with two people
As shown in the illustration on the right, the box can be easily arranged at the head of a group of tables to provide employees with a multifunctional space that is very close to their workstation.
At the same time, the Multi Box is used as a sound absorber and protects the open workstations from office noise
The noises emanating from the open table group are also absorbed for the other office users
Another unique feature of the Multi Box is its ability to be integrated as a piece of furniture into all common office concepts
Glass elements: Two glass doors, 95.9 x 209.7 cm, made of 8 mm toughened safety glass (ESG), open outwards, and stop on the center beam. The glass doors are also available in laminated safety glass (VSG) for a version with increased sound insulation for an additional charge.
Wall elements: Acoustic system walls based on OSB/wood fiber, with a 9 mm vitAcoustic insulation panel made from recycled PET bottles (PET felt) on the inside and outside. Designed as a highly sound-absorbing system on the outside and an acoustically optimized system on the inside.
Ceiling elements: Acoustic system element like the walls, but highly sound-absorbing inside for deep absorption and coated white outside
Technical module: The electrical and ventilation systems are located on the ceiling element for acoustics. An integrated sound-absorbing labyrinth makes the ventilation system virtually silent.
Features: A duct on the rear wall provides both fresh air and power. All desired outlets, switches, screens, and even CO2 alarms can be installed here. The exhaust vent is located behind the dimmable LED ceiling light (at least 500 lux) and is therefore not visible. The power connection is via a 3-meter-long cable with a European plug.
Design: All PET felt surfaces can be selected from the 19 colors of the vitAcoustic color sample. The powder coating of the frames and frame components is also available in all standard RAL colors. The sliding table is available as a custom version in solid wood or as a standard version in chipboard with coated surfaces. The table can also be supplied by the respective furniture framework contract partner. Chairs, however, are not included in the scope of delivery.

Wulf Zargen is our specialist for steel frames and frame components for the Multi Box. The history of this family-run company dates back to 1772. Since then, it has preserved the expertise of metalworking and combined it with the innovative strength of a medium-sized company.
OSB wall elements, ceiling element and technology module
Heinrich Riffer GmbH & Co. KG is a long-established timber merchant and specialist in OSB export packaging, offering extremely short delivery times even for special packaging: fast, customized, and needs-based. This also applies to the OSB wall components for our Multi Box.
Ventilation, lighting and electrical engineering
Founded in 1988, WIRA Schaltanlagenbau GmbH has developed into a young, dynamic company. Its warehouse capacity includes approximately 15,000 items and over 150,000 meters of cable, providing a high degree of flexibility even for short-term needs.
Glass doors and door fittings
Hadeco is our center of excellence for glass doors. All doors are manufactured in Germany using toughened safety glass (ESG) to the highest quality standards. "Made in Germany" quality ensures the highest level of security for our Multi Box.
